OUR VISION

Point Chevalier Drama Club has been part of the neighborhood since 2017, offering Stage and Screen Acting classes for students aged 6-17 years in a fun and safe environment. Led by actor and director Nicole Whippy, and supported by some of the best teachers in the industry, our focus is on helping students become confident and creative through performance.

Our students have performed all over Pt Chevalier, from Easter shows at The Subud Hall and Pt Chevalier Library to a singing performance at Selwyn Village, Christmas shows at both of our community centers and the local bowling club, and an outdoor performance of Where The Wild Things Are at Coyle Park—using the playground as our stage. We’re active in the community, so keep an eye out for us!

Our popular Acting for Screen courses have been running for four years, with tutors such as Dave Van Horn (Children’s Acting Coach on Netflix hit Sweet Tooth, Minecraft, and Rings of Power), casting directors from Shortland Street (Claire Dougan, Matt Dwyer, and Andrea Kelland), and popular TV actresses Marianne Infante, Antonia Prebble, and Amelia Reid. Under our guidance, several students have been cast in independent short films, Shortland Street, Taskmaster, Spelling Bee, and Educators. We even have voice-over artists among our talented students. Pt Chev has talent!
